New Book Review

I have a book review in the College English Association’s new journal issue. I review the new anthology Teaching Literature and Language Online. Big thanks go to my editor Janine Utell for putting up with my delays during the summer.

I also strongly suggest checking out the other reviewer, Lee Skallerup’s, work both in the journal and for Inside Higher Ed.

Hacking The Academy Contribution

I am very happy to report that, while my submission did not make the print edition, my contribution to the Hacking The Academy project has been published in the online edition of the protect under the “scholarly societies” section. Readers will probably be familiar with others in the section like David Parry, Amanda French, and Brian Croxall.

Subject & Strategy Acknowledgment

After taking part in their manuscript review survey for the latest edition of Subject & Strategy: A Writer’s Reader, I have been thanked in the acknowledgment portion of the preface. I know this is pretty casual and normal for academics, but I am pretty excited to have participated in this process and now see my name inside the book I use for my composition classes.

Two pictures taken from my new cell phone. I’ve never had a camera phone before, so I apologize for their poor quality.

New Publication In The Quarterly Conversation

For the second spring in a row, I have been published in The Quarterly Conversation. This time I wrote about Shelley Jackson’s career in and out of print and electronic literature. There are a lot of other interesting essays on Borges, Bolano, and Swift among others alongside of my piece in the new issue.

Publishing In Transformative Works & Cultures

Coming in September I will be publishing an interview in Transformative Works & Culture with Dr. Angela Thomas about her work on the Virtual Macbeth project in Second Life. I am really happy about getting to work with Dr. Thomas. It has been a goal of mine for the past few years to work with her and I am very pleased to finally be able to in a great journal like TW&C.

My Submission To New Issue Of The Quarterly Conversation + New Issue Of Open Letters Monthly

My article for the new issue of The Quarterly Conversation is now available for reading. I reviewed N. Katherine Hayles’ Electronic Literature: New Horizons For The Literary and offered a brief introduction to many forms of electronic literature in general. It is such a privilege to contribute to The Quarterly Conversation.  I am very happy with how the article came out.

There are plenty of other articles and reviews to engage with in the new issue. While I do hope readers check out my work, I strongly suggest looking at everything else as well.

A new issue of Open Letters Monthly is also out. OLM have been nice enough to add me to their blogroll, so please take a look at what they have to offer too. I am very interested in the article about the fiftieth anniversary of Miles Davis’ Kind Of Blue album.

I would love to hear what you think of my article via email, a tweet, or in the comments below.
