Recently read: Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe.

I had never read this book in its entirety before. The story is not that interesting to me, but the way in which Defoe is beginning to form what the novel will become is. As usual with this sort of thing, the secondary sources I am reading (Watt, Bakhtin, etc) are a lot more useful than the primary text.
